It’s here! It’s finally here!
After a lot of hard work behind the scenes, we are proud to present The Quest for Sourdough: our online project to map and preserve sourdough heritage on a global scale.
Sourdoughs have been around for thousands of years, and everyone makes theirs just a little differently. That’s why we wanted to create a space to gather and share all those different recipes. But that’s not all! Our interactive map allows you to see which users across the globe have tried your sourdough recipe. You can also read interesting guest blog posts from sourdough celebrities, check out our handy guide on food photography and learn the right way to taste bread. What are you waiting for?
This platform is the online counterpart to our Sourdough Library at the Puratos Center for Bread Flavour in Belgium. Every year, we select a limited number of recipes and add the actual sourdoughs to that Library. The Puratos Library already holds 87 sourdoughs from bakers all over the world, but there’s plenty of room for more…
That’s where you come in! Join the community, upload your recipe and share your story. We’d love to hear all about it! START YOUR QUEST
Your sourdough will appear in the library after you give your home address. The database is linked to google earth. Do not worry, you remain private. On top of that, we need the address to be able to send the gift to the first 500 registered persons.

Amazing!
super !
Wow, nice!
Hi, like this website idea, was easy to add my sourdough starter info/name. Could not upload photos cause my pictures exceeded the limit. Most of my photos are between 800 and 1,100 KB. Thank you.
I am reeling from the serendipity at work here! I went to King Arthur Flour's Facebook page to post a pic of my first ever wild yeast only sourdough bread, and found this registry. Kevin is now registered and now the whole world can see the bread we made! We're bonafide now!
Was given a wild Yeast Starter from a Colorado Native Miner family. It's about one hundred and eighty years old and still kickin. It makes wonderful bread
Excellent platform to flaunt your Starter and recipes
